I have purchased dishtv Last Saturday (22nd March 2008) and installation of dish was done on Monday from Distributer SV Services, Bangalore and also they have collected my application form.Still today my connection is not activated, when ever i call customer care they say your form has not reach us. If i contact SV service they say, have submitted the form. I request user not to buy for DISHTV, as there service is very low standard, Call center and distributer very poor.Plus Hidden cost what buyer need to pay is Cable cost, which they have given Rs.12 per meter, but distributer charge Rs.15 per meter.and Most importantly not user friendly remote control.No respond to the email also.Pls...Pls... do not buy DISHTV

DO LPG CYLINDERS WE USE EVERYDAY HAVE ANY EXPIRY DATE:

Please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the vendor.
Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders as

"Expired Cylinders are not safe for use as may cause leakages and inturn accidents."
According to experts, LPG cylinders have a life span of 20 to 25 years but should be checked every five years.
Alok Singh, in-charge (corporate communications), Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), says:
"The quarter of a year when the next check is due is the expiry date of the cylinder. The quarter is painted on one of the three 'vertical stays' on which the rim rests. The date is on the side of a 'stay' facing the regulator."

"If D-06 is painted on your cylinder, it means it has expired in the last quarter of 2006. A, B and C stand for the first, second and third quarters of a year," explained Singh.

The alphabets stand for quarters:

-- A for Jan-March (First Qtr) -- B for April-June (Second Qtr)
-- C for July-Sept (Third Qtr) -- D for Oct-December (Fourth Qtr)
o "D" stands for the last quarter i .e . Oct to Dec .
o "06" stands for the year 2006.



D-06 indicates the expiry life of cylinder and not the GAS filled in it.
This cylinder should not be used and returned back to the gas dealer.
Share this message ... if u feel important ............. with everyone and do not accept the cylinder if the date has already expired.

Can you imagine this happening in INDIA?

Government of India has an online Grievance forum at
http://darpg-grievance.nic.in

The government wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc etc.

I know many people will say that these things don't work in India, but this actually works as one of our colleague in CSC found. The guy I'm talking about lives in Faridabad. Couple of months back, the Faridabad Municipal Corporation laid new roads in his area and the residents were very happy about it. But 2 weeks later, BSNL dugged up the newly laid roads to install new cables which annoyed all the residents including this guy. But it was only this guy! Who used the above listed grievance forum to highlight his concern. And to his surprise, BSNL and Municipal Corporation of faridabad was served a show cause notice and the guy received a copy of the notice in one week. Government has asked the MC and BSNL about the goof up as it's clear that both the government departments were not in sync at all.

So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility.
This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the ' System' in India. Invite your friends to contribute for many such happenings.
